About Dr. Ed Beltran:

Dr. Beltran graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London, England. Born in Bogota De Santa Fe, Columbia, he lived in London before moving to Canada in 1974. He has a broad range of veterinary experience, including large and companion animal practice in England and Canada before focusing on companion animal practice.

His professional interests include complementary and alternative medicine, including neural therapy and homeopathy, management of chronic disease (such as heart disease), and animal behaviour.

He is also involved in the exploration of the family/pet ‘systemic’ effect on both pets and owners using the Hellinger Systemic Family therapy System. As well, he is looking into the use of ‘phages’ to treat bacterial infections resistant to conventional medications.

When he isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his English Pointer, Aura, and his Yorkshire Terrier, E.T. His personal interests are extensive and include music (he is learning to play guitar and harmonica), reading, canoeing, scuba diving, fly fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing and studying bull fighting. He also enjoys spending time at the farm.
